Do Rays Florist offer free delivery?

No! We have yet to find a driver that works for free, a van that is free to buy and will also maintain itself for free. We've also never found that the government allow us free road tax or an insurance company that will give us free insurance. Nowhere gives diesel away for free sadly.
All joking aside, we will offer free delivery if we are able to walk the delivery to it's destination. More importantly, any florist or floristry website that offers 'free' delivery is being economical with the truth. Let's just say, for example, that a bouquet, with 'free' delivery is £40. That organisation (and it's usually the internet based ones) will immediately take out at least £7 and maybe up to £10 for postage and packaging and then even more as a 'commission'. Your £40 bouquet has then lost at least 30% or more of it's value. We prefer to be transparent. If you spend £40 on a bouquet with Rays Florist then you will receive a bouquet to the value of £40 with nothing taken out for 'florists time', commission, admin fees, processing fees or postage and packaging. Our delivery charges are based on postcode location, with the closer ones being the cheapest and the most farther reaches of our direct delivery area being the more expensive.

Who delivers the flowers?

If the flower delivery is within our local geographical area, then Rays Florist will deliver there directly. Otherwise we will relay all Uk national flower orders via a trusted florist network. We can offer a specialised courier service for funeral flowers within a 2 hour radius of our shop. If you are interested in this service, please Contact Us.

Can I specify a timed delivery?

With the exception of funeral flower orders we are unable guarantee timed deliveries. Whilst we cannot guarantee any specific times or am/pm requests for most areas, we'll do our very best to accommodate you. We do offer a AM delivery service for areas that are close to our shop.

What times are deliveries made?

Flower deliveries are made by Rays Florist or our partner florists between 8am and 6pm or extended hours during busy or peak trading periods.

What if no one is home to receive the flowers?

If no one is home, we'll leave the flowers in a safe place or with a neighbour, and leave a delivery note. If that's not possible, we'll contact the recipient to arrange a suitable delivery location.

Do you deliver to hospitals, schools, or businesses?

Yes, offices, schools and other locations, however most hospitals with the exception of private hospitals do not accept flowers on any ward. Please ensure you have the correct address and any delivery instructions noted at checkout.

Can I cancel or amend my flower order?

We accept cancellations or changes within a reasonable time before dispatch. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to make changes.

Can you deliver flowers overseas?

Yes, we can arrange flower deliveries internationally, to most countries in the world - please call us on 01252 311966.

🌼 Speciality Funeral Tribute FAQs

What are speciality funeral tributes?

Speciality funeral tributes are bespoke floral designs created to reflect a loved one’s hobbies, interests, profession, or personality. These can include musical instruments (such as guitars), football-themed designs, animal shapes, vehicles, cartoon-inspired tributes, workplace items (for example, a chainsaw), and many other personalised concepts.

Can you recreate any item exactly as it appears in real life?

No. We do not reproduce exact replicas. Each tribute is a handmade floral representation, created using flowers, foliage, plant materials, and selected non-floral components. The finished design interprets the chosen theme rather than replicates a precise model.

Will my tribute look exactly like the photo on your website?

Not necessarily. Images on our website are examples of previous designs. Every tribute is individually handmade, and natural materials vary in colour, size, and availability. We reserve the right to take artistic licence to ensure the tribute is balanced, respectful, and completed to the highest possible standard.

What does “artistic licence” mean?

Artistic licence means we may adjust proportions, colours, floral content, or structural elements to achieve the best overall visual result. This may also include refining or improving upon a previous version of a design shown on our website.

Why can’t designs be identical every time?

Funeral tributes are created using fresh, seasonal flowers and natural materials. Availability can change due to seasonality and market supply. As each piece is handcrafted, slight variations are inevitable and form part of the bespoke nature of the tribute.

What materials are used in speciality tributes?

We use a combination of:

  • Fresh flowers
  • Foliage and plant materials
  • Floristry foam and structural bases
  • Selected non-floral decorative elements where appropriate

These materials are carefully chosen to achieve the closest possible floral interpretation of your chosen theme.

Can you create themed tributes such as sports, hobbies, or occupations?

Yes. We regularly design tributes reflecting hobbies, sports teams, musical interests, vehicles, animals, trades, and professions. Please note that these are floral interpretations and not licensed merchandise or exact branded reproductions.

Do you ever update or improve designs?

Yes. We continually refine our techniques and may enhance or modify a design compared to a previously displayed example to improve structure, detail, or overall presentation.

How far in advance should I order a speciality tribute?

We recommend ordering as early as possible. Speciality tributes require detailed planning and construction time to ensure they are completed to a high standard.

Can you discuss a completely unique idea?

Absolutely. If you have something specific in mind that is not shown on our website, please contact us. We will advise whether it can be interpreted effectively as a floral tribute.

What is the most important thing to understand about speciality tributes?

Each tribute is a handcrafted floral creation made with care, skill, and sensitivity. It is not an exact model or manufactured replica, but a respectful and artistic floral representation designed to honour your loved one

Speciality Funeral Tributes – Important Information

All speciality funeral tributes are individually handmade by our florists using fresh flowers, plant materials, and floral construction techniques. Due to the bespoke and perishable nature of floral work:
  • Exact replication of photographs, branded items, tools, vehicles, characters, or products is not possible.
  • Materials, flower varieties, and construction elements may vary.
  • Colours may be achieved using floral sprays, dyes, or alternative plant materials where appropriate.
  • Designs are artistic interpretations rather than precise replicas.
  • Where reference images are supplied, they are used as guidance only.
  • By placing an order for a speciality tribute, you acknowledge and accept that variation is inherent in handcrafted floral design.
